Mission

Centro Las Americas was established in 1977, as a multi-service, non-profit Latino organization whose primary purpose is to serve, empower, and advocate in the Greater Worcester Community.

Statement of Purpose

Serving as the only community based multi-service Latino organization in Central Massachusetts, Centro Las Americas strives to promote social responsibility and foster a strong cultural identity. Through Service, Empowerment and Advocacy we provide educational and economic development opportunities; we offer transitional community and case management services; and most importantly we offer cultural programming which helps to promote our rich culture and heritage. Centro Las Americas works to enable Latinos to be self-sufficient and significant contributors of the community as a whole. Centro Las Americas embraces partnerships with individuals, community organizations, governmental agencies and businesses committed to improving the quality of life for Latinos and our overall community.

Today, Centro Las Americas offers a variety of services that provide help to all members of the Worcester Community. From weekly food distribution to our annual Latin American Festival, Centro Las Americas strives to meet the needs of the community.

Centro Las Americas maintains a unique and vital service for the elder population of Worcester; the “Latino Elder Program”. The Latino Elder Program has received Federal financial support under the Older Americans Act furnished by the Central Massachusetts Agency on Aging and the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs.
